It is normal for the plating to fade over time. How fast the plating fades depends on many different factors such as your skin's acidity, how often you wear the piece, and the activities you do while wearing the piece.

Jewelry will last a long time with proper care. It's a matter of keeping it away from the elements salt, water, sweat, and high humidity and also chemicals from cleaners or perfumes.

While not wearing your jewelry, you can store it in a zip lock plastic bag, an air-tight pouch or a jewelry box. If needed, the best way to clean it is with a jewelry polishing cloth.

Please DO NOT wear it in the shower, hot tub, chlorine pool, spa, or the beach.
